PUBLIC MEETING NOTIFICATIONRoadway Project on US 1/South Dixie Highway

Florida Department of Transportation District SixRoadway Project on SR 5/US 1/South Dixie Highwayfrom SW 168 Street to Banyan Street and fromWayne Avenue to SW 183 Street
Project Identification Number: 428487-1-52-01.
The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) District Six is developing the design for a project along US 1/South Dixie Highway from SW 168 Street to SW 183 Street in Miami-Dade County.
PROJECT DETAILS:
• Repaving and restriping the road
• Upgrading the concrete divider between travel lanes to extend the turn lane at SW 183 Street
• Repairing curb ramps
• Replacing broken sidewalks
• Upgrading driveways to current standards
• Upgrading signs and pedestrian signals
To complete  the work, an estimated six driveways will be rebuilt. Letters are being sent to the affected property owners informing them about their driveway repairs.**There is a portion of the road between Wayne Avenue and south of Banyan Street that will not be repaved, as this pavement was repaved by the Miami-Dade County Water and Sewer Department.

The meeting will follow an informal format allowing the public to arrive at any time from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Graphic displays will be shown at this meeting, and FDOT representatives will be available to discuss the projects and answer questions. Your participation is encouraged and will give us the opportunity to listen to your comments and address any concern that you may have.
ESTIMATED COST OF THE PROJECT $908,769
DATES FOR THE PROJECT Construction is expected to begin in December 2012 and last about 150 days.
POSSIBLE IMPACTS DURING CONSTRUCTION• Temporary lane closures during non-rush hours will have minimal impact on traffic• Temporary sidewalk closures
MAINTENANCE OF TRAFFICWork will be done in phases to reduce impacts to drivers, local residents and businesses.Driveways and entrances to businesses and homes will stay open at all times.Any driveway work will be coordinated with each property owner and done at a mutually convenient time.
