Pinecrest, Fl First of 2011 News

The Banyan Bowl amphitheatre, in Pinecrest Gardens, is now a community cultural arts venue. Thanks to Cindy Lerner, Pinecrest Mayor and her great council. The formal stage has just been completed. There is a new sound systmen and lighting that will enable the the Village to showcase talent and offer music and theatre. Mayor Lerner will be speaking from the Banyon Bowl amphitheatre for her 3rd State of the Village address which will be held on Thursday, January 20th, 6:00 p.m. I will share the progress we have made this year and my vision for the coming year. Join us for performances by students from Pinecrest Elementary, Palmetto Elementary and Palmetto Middle schools and enjoy refreshments at a celebratory reception after the address.

In other news, the dog park options for the Village are not coming to an easy fruition. I for one, would not have thought it would be so difficult to find a feasible area for this great idea. Palmetto Bay, Coconut Grove (having a mixed use park) and Miami Beach have made it a priority for dog owners, and although Mayor Lerner has also made it a priority, something always seems to be in the way from making it happen. If you are interested in a dog park, let your council know your wishes.
