Congress is talking about limiting or elimination the Mortgage Interest Deduction (MID) As a constituent and a Realtor I believe that this will keep potential buyers on the sidelines and further delay the housing the recovery.
I have been and am still on the front lines of this housing recovery. I can assure you that even talking about changing the MID harms an already fragile housing market.
So today I called my Senator Nelson and left him a message with my feelings about this issue. As a member of the National Association of REALTORS, I Iet him know that I appreciate his belief that home ownership matters and any changes to our taxable deductions is not welcome!
